Netflix has recently released a collection of games for Android and iOS in the hopes of expanding its gaming business.
Earlier this week, Netflix launched mobile games on its platform. The games are currently only available for Android users, but iOS compatibility is “on the way,” according to the company.
Netflix claims that its collection of mobile games will be available in the service’s multiple languages and that the games will automatically default to the preferences set in your Netflix profile. Members will also be able to use the same account to play games on multiple mobile devices.
Stranger Things: 1984 (BonusXP), Stranger Things 3: The Game (BonusXP), Shooting Hoops (Frosty Pop), Card Blast (Amuzo & Rogue Games), and Teeter Up (Amuzo & Rogue Games) are among the five mobile games available from the company known for its digital streaming service (Frosty Pop).
This is how it will work:
To play Netflix games on Android and iOS, follow these steps:
- Launch Netflix and sign in to your account.
- Navigate to the dedicated game row/tab in the Netflix app if you’re using a smartphone.
- If you’re using a tablet, you can also get to it through the categories drop-down menu.
- Choose your favourite game from the dedicated row/tab and press the ‘Get Game’ button.
- Allow Netflix to obtain the game from the Google Play/App Store.
- After installing the game, select your Netflix profile (it must not be a child’s profile) and enter your PIN (if it exists) when prompted.
These games do not run within the Netflix app, which merely serves as a portal to these titles.
The game will automatically use the language you have set as your default on your account. When a specific language is incompatible, the game defaults to English.
Some games will require an internet connection, while others will be playable without one. Netflix has stated that it intends to create games for all levels of gamers, including beginners and experts.
